Store Keeper / Store Man at Prime Support – Basra

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to ensure that all stores’ principles, procedures, guidelines and standards set by PSGS management and the Client is followed and maintained at all times.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Applying and following the contractual obligations, PSGS’s policies and procedures
  • Maintaining ISO standards of quality at work all times
  • Ensuring personal hygiene standards, uniform code, safe lifting techniques and code of behavior is strictly follow
  • Following Health and Safety measures including code of accident prevention
  • Receiving and inspecting all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders/supplier invoice or delivery note
  • Inspecting deliveries and verifying freshness, cleanliness, consistency and quality throughout case lots
  • Refusing acceptance of damaged or incorrect items
  • Following FIFO principles at the time of receiving and during normal routine tasks
  • Checking and reporting expiry dates of products, and segregates damaged and spoilt goods for further inspection and recording before disposing
  • Entering issuance and receipts vouchers in the warehouse management system when it takes place
  • Updating the stock ledger/warehouse management system for better planning and forecasting
  • Notifying line Manager/Supervisor of low stock levels in a timely manner
  • Ensuring the chiller, freezer and dry stores’ temperature is accurate and reports to Management if any drop in temperature is recorded
  • Adhering to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas
  • Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Maximizing space-usage within the warehouse
  • Setting aside storage areas for new stock
  • Driving forklifts and operates pallet jacks
  • Ensuring products are stocked correctly and safely
  • Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensures inventory accuracy
  • Preparing various Management information reports on a daily and monthly basis
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Act as a food safety team member
  • Performing other duties as directed




  • Degree in Food service Management and Logistics Training or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years work experience in a 4 to 5 star environment or Remote Site Life Support Services
  • Hold a valid heavy duty vehicle license
  • Trained and certified to drive a forklift and to operate a pallet jacket
  • Computer-literate
  • Good command of English language, Arabic is an added value
