The Role in Brief:
The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for developing and running new tests to identify issues with developed software before product launch, reporting on the results, and collaborating with software developers to fix program issues.
Execute testing plansReport application issues using tools such as JIRA, GEMINI, and Microsoft Excel to communicate testing status to peers and managementApply tools and techniques selected by the QC Lead/Manager for the specific software projectDevelop an extensive working knowledge of the internal productsParticipate in developing testing plansParticipate in developing training materialsTroubleshoot issues reported by customers and guide users to solutionsFacilitate problem-solving between end user and development staffParticipate with development staff in testing new releases of internal products
B.Sc. in Computer ScienceAs a plus, certification in the QC field such as ISTQBMinimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), especially QC and testing phaseFamiliar with Agile methodologyKnowledge and experience in QC automation tools like Selenium or IBM rational suiteGood skills in developing test casesExperience in testing web-based solutionsVery good knowledge of Internet Explorer and using web-based applicationsGood knowledge of Microsoft Office productsAnalytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to effectively communicate technical informationAbility to communicate professionally by phone and emailShould be fluent in English & ArabicGood administrative skills and an ability to manage own workloadAbility to cultivate positive working relationships with customers and co-workers
